Business model innovation aims to challenge the way organizations create, deliver, and capture customer value. Many organizations have trouble with lateral thinking – to “think outside the box” – and experience difficulties with thinking in terms of business models. Instead, they are too product oriented, and often lack the right tools to transform their way of thinking.

 

In this two-day programme, we will explore what opportunities your organization has to challenge and change your own business model. Through teamwork and in-depth discussions, your view of customer value is challenged, and you receive tangible tools and frameworks to be able to improve your organization’s business model.

Lecturer: Johan Brink

Johan Brink is a senior lecturer at the Unit for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. His research areas include innovation, knowledge-based entrepreneurship, and strategic management.

 Currently he is responsible for the Master’s programme “Innovation and Industrial Management”, where he lectures on the courses Strategic Management and Operations Management. Johan also has experience from working as a management consultant in the private and public sectors.

NB: The programme is delivered in Swedish.

DAY 1, MORNING

  • How to create in-depth insight into the importance of customer value by understanding the client’s professional role,
  • How to create empathy for the customer and build new insights through systematic discussion with your customer about challenges and opportunities.

DAY 1, AFTERNOON

  • How customer value insights can be developed into one or more value propositions,
  • Explore your organization’s opportunities for improvement, development, and expansion.

DAY 2, MORNING

  • How business models are used by an organization to create, deliver, and capture customer value,
  • How to use a so-called Business Model Canvas to describe and visualize your organization’s current business model.

DAY 2, AFTERNOON

  • How to improve your business model by introducing and stimulating opportunities for change,
  • Further exploration of how identifying these opportunities for change can contribute to an innovative business model.

General conditions for applying to open-enrolment programmes

Once we receive your application, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail. The confirmation will contain all practical information. We will send you an invoice for the programme fee 14 days before it starts. Should there be too few applications, we reserve the right to cancel the programme. In such case, you will be notified by e-mail.

Cancellation

In case you wish to cancel your application a written cancellation needs to be sent via e-mail. This can be done without cost up to 28 days before programme start. Cancellation within 14-27 days before programme start will be charged with 50% of the programme fee. Cancelling less than 14 days means the entire fee will be charged. In case of cancellation, you are welcome to find a replacement to take your seat.
