Time to apply for the Göteborgs-Posten Executive MBA Scholarship!

17 April 2024

This summer, for the fourth time, Göteborgs-Posten, in collaboration with the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg, will provide a scholarship covering the fee for a spot on the Executive MBA programme in Gothenburg. The scholarship is awarded to an individual deemed capable of contributing to positive development within their organization and for West Sweden. The application deadline is June 10.

The Executive MBA programme at the School of Business, Economics and Law in Gothenburg is an English-language leadership program spanning 21 months. Participants work concurrently while attending the programme part-time. The education is based on the latest research in leadership and business development, enhancing the ability to lead in a time marked by rapid change.

Empowering West Sweden
Many of the lecturers come from the School of Business, Economics and Law’s partner universities around the world. The international character is further enhanced by the two trips to Asia (Bangalore, India, and Seoul, South Korea) included in the programme, providing a global perspective on business culture. The School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg is the only business school in Sweden with an Executive MBA programme that holds a Triple Crown accreditation, an international quality stamp.

Through the scholarship, Göteborgs-Posten aims to strengthen the local business community’s innovation and competitiveness, contribute to lifelong learning, and demonstrate that knowledge makes a difference. The fee for the Executive MBA programme, 525,000 SEK, is typically covered by the participants’ employers.

“Göteborgs-Posten’s scholarship opens opportunities for candidates whose employers are unable to cover the fee. At the same time, it strengthens companies in West Sweden that gain access to new qualified knowledge. Leaders with an Executive MBA degree add significant value,” says Peter Salomonsson, Business Development Manager at GU Executive Education.

The jury selecting the scholarship recipient consists of GP’s editor-in-chief, Christofer Ahlqvist; GP’s marketing manager, Josefin Meyer; the dean of the School of Business, Economics and Law, Per Cramér; as well as Håkan Ericson, CEO, and Peter Salomonsson, Business Development Manager, from GU Executive Education.

Previous scholarship recipients
This year marks the fourth time the scholarship is awarded. The first recipient, Katarina Brud, Director at MobilityXlab, graduated in June 2023. The 2022 recipient is Sandya Lang, Sustainability Manager at Nudie Jeans. She will complete the programme in a few months. Last year, Stefan Edevåg, Chief Technology Officer at Hedin Bil, was selected, and he is now well into his second semester.
