Executive MBA programme
Develop your capabilities to manage strategic and operational realities.
The Association of MBAs (AMBA), a leading international accreditation authority for business schools, has announced it will re-accredit the Executive MBA programme at the School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg for another five years – the longest extension possible. The programme was first accredited in 2013, and the School remains the only Swedish business school to hold an AMBA accreditation. Internationally, the AMBA accreditation is considered the most prestigious quality standard for MBA programmes currently available.
Accreditations are important tools for comparing the quality of research, education and outreach activities at business schools around the world. The School of Business, Economics and Law in Gothenburg is also accredited by EQUIS and AACSB, making it the only business school in Sweden to hold the so-called Triple Crown accreditation. Only about 70 schools, or 0,5%, of all the world’s business schools, are Triple Crown accredited.
The AMBA accreditation assures programme participants that the education they engage in is of highest international standard. Similarly, it reassures employers that the investment they make when nominating their leaders to the programme is money and time well spent.
“The AMBA re-accreditation confirms that our efforts to offer executive education of outstanding quality have been effective,” says Professor Per Cramér, dean of the School of Business, Economics and Law in Gothenburg. “The accreditation helps to put Gothenburg and Sweden on the global map of education and makes us more competitive internationally.”
“We are very proud of the 5-year unconditional re-accreditation. It strengthens our reputation and spurs further development. The AMBA peer review team gave us valuable feedback that we will duly consider in our continuous development of the Executive MBA programme,” says Håkan Ericson, managing director of GU School of Executive Education.
About AMBA
The accreditation is awarded by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), an impartial international authority on postgraduate management education. The accreditation serves as a global standard for MBA programmes. At present, only some 245 business schools are AMBA accredited, which corresponds to about 2% of all business schools in the world.
The evaluation of programmes is based on the quality of the teaching, learning targets and interaction with and among programme participants. The accreditation is a way for AMBA to ensure programmes of high quality and that current trends and innovations are reflected in postgraduate management programmes.
