Get ready to meet a new world.
In an era of rapid change, new customer needs, and increased competition, organizations must be able to develop and renew their business models. Creating long-term value requires an ability to understand how the world is changing and to dare to challenge the status quo. This program provides you with research-based knowledge and practical tools to develop and renew your business model.

Business models are changing faster than ever. Customer needs are shifting, technology is accelerating, and competition often comes from entirely new directions. To succeed, it takes more than optimizing the existing – it requires an ability to challenge, reshape, and renew the logic that creates value for customers and the organization.
In this two-day program, researchers Björn Wikhamn and Jonas Fasth will guide you through a structured and research-based process for business model innovation.
The program is based on current research from the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg and proven methods in business modeling.
You will work concretely with your own organization’s challenges and opportunities and leave the program with an updated or entirely new business model, ready to be tested within the organization.

Björn Wikhamn is a Professor of Management and Organization at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. His research includes innovation, HRM, and strategic renewal, with a particular interest in how organizations can develop in an increasingly dynamic and complex world. A central theme is open innovation – how companies collaborate with external actors to create new value while navigating digitalization, sustainability requirements, and other external pressures for transformation.
Björn has extensive experience collaborating with companies and innovation environments in both industrial and knowledge-intensive sectors. He is also involved in several interactive research and development initiatives that unite universities, industry, and the public sector. Furthermore, Björn is the academic director for Matix – Management of Growth, a master’s program at the School of Business, Economics and Law that combines academic studies with strategic work in growth companies and innovation-driven organizations.
As a lecturer, advisor, and facilitator, he challenges conventional thinking and connects theoretical knowledge with practical action. The combination of research-based perspectives and experience from collaborations with the business community makes him a link between academic analysis and organizations’ daily decisions. His contributions are characterized by clarity, concreteness, and a forward-looking approach, providing leaders with tools to navigate a world marked by uncertainty, complexity, and change.
Björn is currently publishing the book Paradoxsamhället (The Paradoxical Society), where he compiles his research-based insights on how companies can interpret and utilize contemporary contradictions as a force for development. The book is aimed at managers and decision-makers who want to strengthen their ability to navigate a time of parallel demands and conflicting expectations.

Jonas Fasth works as a researcher and lecturer in Business Administration at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. Jonas also has experience working in group management teams and boards of knowledge organizations. His assignments have mainly involved developing operational working methods and competence in strategy and change management. In addition, Jonas is engaged as a consultant specializing in growth and strategic processes in companies.
Based on both research and over 25 years of experience as a consultant, he has, among other things, authored the books: “Management of Growth Companies – What the Research Shows”, “Business Leaders’ Work and Growth”, “Practical Strategy Work”, “The Little Book of Marketing”, “Fundamentals of Growth Companies”, and “Fundamentals of Strategy Work”.
