Managing Global Talent

On October 20, 2016, some 50 Executive MBA alumni and current Executive MBA participants joined the School’s Executive MBA Alumni Event on the theme “Managing Global Talent”.

This time we were honoured to have Dr. Jessica Bagger, Professor of Management at Sacramento State, and Mats A. Vilander, MBA, MSc, International Strategy Advisor with 24 years of experience from the international Telecom industry, as our speakers.

Dr. Jessica Bagger’s scientific research investigates how organizational and personal factors impact employees’ performance and wellbeing and she also writes for the Sacramento Business Review, a publication for organizations and leaders in the Sacramento Region. She regularly consults and develops training and development programs for public and private organizations in Northern California.

At the Executive MBA alumni event, Dr. Bagger addressed current talent management topics, including HRM, employees, and talent management. In particular, she spoke about Performance Management and linked current HRM research to the latest trends in Performance Management.

Mr. Mats A. Vilander shared his practical experience on the topic of talent management and leadership through his various CXO level roles, executive line management and advisory/board member roles at global companies such as Ericsson, ZTE Corporation, Begacom/Omantel and Price Waterhouse , as well as various startups in recruiting and motivating professionals.

The discussions and sharing of experiences continued after the lectures while mingling and networking with Executive MBA alumni and current Executive MBA participants.
